Windey Farms uses eco-positive farming methods to grow its crops at Windey Farms near the Canadian border in northeast Washington State.
For the first time, no new peatmoss was purchased in 2022. Composted chipped wood is used instead. Peat moss releases carbon to the atmosphere when it is harvested from ancient peat beds.
Fifteen chickens provide fertilizer for the row crops, peony beds, landscaping and orchard. No new fertilizer was purchased in 2022. Wood shavings or hay are used in the coop.
No pesticides or medicated feed are used.
We practice water-conserving irrigation.
